Kindness in Primary 4
In Primary 4, we have been sharing kindness with people in class and in our communities! We have raised money for children in need and created a box of treats to help a homeless person in Barnsley. We wrote letters to go with the box, we hope the person enjoys reading them and knows we care.

Primary 4 step back in time
Primary 4 have had the chance to step back in time. Today, we headed to Barnsley Town Hall to immerse ourselves in what it would be like living in Barnsley during World War Two. In the special exhibition, we saw artefacts and read stories telling the tales of the people living in Barnsley at the time and also things which happened in Barnsley, like the plane which crashed nearby, luckily the pilot avoided the main town area! We now have some questions, ideas and thoughts to share about the war, hopefully we will investigate further and find some answers. It was exciting to be able to visit the museum rather…

Primary 4 have been out and about…
We have had a team outing to the cinema today as part of the ‘into film’ festival. We had the luxury of VIP seats, some popcorn and a bottle of water whilst watching How to train your Dragon- the hidden world. It was a fantastic experience as some of us had never been to the cinema before, we couldn’t believe how big the screen was and how loud it was.

Waiting at the station, destination unknown.
Wearing our labels, gas masks with us, Primary 4 waited to board the train at Springwell station. The billeting officer had found a suitcase on the station platform. We looked inside and revealed the belongings of the owner, a child who had been evacuated. We were immersed in the sights and sounds which the evacuees might have experienced back in World War Two. Some of us felt nervous and anxious as if we were really there.

Whose bag could it be?
We found a bag with some unusual belongings by the door this morning. Could it be Billy Casper’s? A very interesting immersive WOW way in for KS3 at Kirk Balk today.
