Key Stage Three Junior MasterChef
Key stage three pupils took part in Junior MasterChef this afternoon to end their Elements topic on World of Food. Each class presented a main course and dessert to the panel of judges. Congratulations to year eight on the winning dessert which was raspberry layer cake and to year nine on the winning main; chicken noodle stir fry. Look out for these dishes on the school lunch menu. Year 10 say “No to hate crime”.
This week year 10 were visited by PC Marshall to discuss hate crime. The pupils were excellent and wrote their own messages to help stop hate crime. The next day, Thomas Watson and Joshua Martin-Smith represented Springwell school at a hate crime event in Barnsley town centre. We are really proud of the whole class for their attitudes towards this subject. For the past few week the year 10 class have been trying different types of fruit during nurture. This has been very popular with the students and so far they have tried apples, candy floss grapes, kiwi, watermelon, strawberries and pineapple. The most popular so far has been watermelon.
